Massage oils, Bath oils, Inhalant oils, Hair and Facial oils, Diffuser oils
as many of us as there are on the planet today...more than five billion...that's how many different individual applications
there are for essential oils."
Ancient Greeks used aromatic plants
in sacred rituals meant to please the gods. Egyptians considered myth and frenkincense to be as precious as jewels. But it
wasn't until a French chemist named Rene Maurice Gattefosse burned his arm in a laboratory explosion that the practice
of aromatherapy became popular in post-modern society.
As the story goes, Gattefosse
quickly plunged his arm into a nearby vat of lavender oil. The resultant quick healing and lack of scarring led him to a lifetime
study of essential oils. His native country, France, is still the world's leading influence in the practice of aromatherapy
in medicine and body care.
At Sacred Mountain
we believe that Aromatherapy is alive and well in our little corner of the world too. And although the retail marketplace
has literally erupted with an epidemic of products boasting aromatic qualities, Sacred Mountain products have nothing in common
with those because aromatherapy is as personal and distinct as each individual on earth. It can't be mass produced.
